Pat Zerega

Pat Zerega is a retired rehabilitation counselor with a diverse background spanning disability services, immigration, health equity, and corporate social responsibility. Early in her career, she led workforce programs for people with intellectual disabilities in Detroit during a pivotal time for the auto industry, later managing an 80-person staff at the Archdiocese of Detroit with programs ranging from prison chaplaincies to refugee support. After moving to Pittsburgh, she volunteered in literacy initiatives and helped develop early support systems for individuals living with HIV.

Before retiring, Pat focused on corporate social responsibility in faith-based pension programs, advocating for human rights, labor protections, and anti-trafficking measures. Her board service has ranged from local residential care organizations to national and international work with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and GoodWeave International. Now, as a board member of The Reading Room, she brings her lifelong commitment to equity, compassion, and systemic change to support children’s literacy.
