Sobia Farheen
Sobia is a dedicated advocate for early childhood education and a passionate volunteer working to improve outcomes for families across Pittsburgh. With a background in pharmacology and healthcare, she brings a unique lens to her work supporting maternal and infant mental health, safe sleep education, and early learning initiatives. Sobia currently serves as a mentor with NurturePA, a Safe Sleep Ambassador with Cribs for Kids, and a fellow in the Early Childhood Education Advocacy program at Trying Together. She also volunteers as a parent representative with Pittsburgh Public Schools' Early Childhood Education Policy Council.
Her work reflects a deep commitment to helping families understand the importance of early literacy and educational access. As a mother and a community leader, Sobia has supported research projects through UPMC and local universities that promote early learning, and she collaborates closely with organizations like Reading is FUNdamental Pittsburgh. Now serving on the Advisory Board of The Reading Room, she continues to champion literacy as a critical foundation for lifelong success.
